  1. Splendid.

It was sometime in the early 80's. I was visiting Emerald Mound in Adams County. It was a summer weekday. My wife was passing time with needlepoint in the car whilst I daydreamed on the western-most (and highest) part of the temple mound.

At first, I thought it was my imagination...but then I saw him. A solitary piper, dressed in kilts, marching from the southwest to northeast diagonally across the site, piping "Scotland the Brave." What a moment!

I love bagpipes -- and by extension, the Celts and my heritage.

Good post on a great site.
